Professional Development At Escape Artists we are keen to support the professional development of people who have an interest in socially inclusive arts. We provide a wide range of programmes and services that are designed to meet the needs of people at all levels of experience: from students to established practitioners. These programmes and services are also accessible to clients who have completed a Level 2 Progression Qualification and who are within the care of a contractor or other support organisation. Follow the links on the sub menu to the left to find out more about the professional development services that we have on offer.
Join us on the Social Arts Network SANe, the Social Arts Network, exists to facilitate communication between people who are interested in the development of socially inclusive arts practice, services and productions. The network is managed by Escape Artists but it is open to everyone and is free to join.
Our Practitioner Training Courses are designed to provide arts practitioners and arts administrators with the additional skills required to work effectively in the area of socially inclusive arts. The courses are run by practitioners who have, between them, many years of experience of working with socially marginalised people. All our courses are accredited through the Open College Network and are delivered at our London base. However, we can, if required, deliver courses elsewhere. Follow the links for more detailed information. Courses that we currently have on offer are:
Actors - Writers - Dancers - Directors - Musicians - Designers - Composers - Technicians - Visual Artists - Choreographers - Video & Film Makers. More...
The following OCN Level 3 courses in arts management are currently in development:
and we anticipate that they will available by June 2010. If you would like to stay informed about our arts management courses, then please fill in the Training Enquiries form (see left), and we will add you to our mailing list.
We have a well developed, accredited internship programme that provides regular opportunities to people who wish to gain hands on experience of working in the field of arts and social inclusion.
If the internship page that you open comes up with message: 'This form cannot be viewed by the public', then it means that the internship isn't currently available. Please email admin@escapeartists.co.uk for more information. Many people who have worked for us as interns have gone on to find paid work within the organisation. For arts practitioners we are able to provide an internship that will enable you to construct an accredited course in your chosen art form. All interns have the opportunity to gain an OCN qualification in arts administration. The application deadlines for internships are the last Fridays in January, March, May and October each year. We recommend that all applicants for internships join SANe (the Social Arts Network). It's a great place for meeting like-minded people and discovering new job and training opportunities. There are three main areas within which we are able to offer freelance employment opportunities:
If you are interested in socially inclusive arts, and you are looking for research materials and support, then we might be able to help. Besides information about the work of our own company, we also have archive materials relating to the work of two other socially inclusive arts organisations that now no longer exist (Insight Arts and Creative Exchange). Please feel free to call us to talk about your research needs.
All of our OCN course materials have been created by arts practitioners in partnership with our management team and are available at low cost through Lulu.com. Click on the links for further information.
Visit the SANe bookstore for a great range of books on socially inclusive arts. A percentage of any book sale made through SANe is donated to Escape Artists (UK registered charity no. 1086004) and helps to pay for the costs of maintaining the Social Arts Network. |
